The New Normal?
“Health
isn’t expensive, its priceless.”
This is actually a
corona virus winter and we are just in the first week. Astounding was the
thought of a pandemic, latching away our lives behind the bars of lock-down.
Words like social distancing, pandemic, quarantine, isolation and
coronapocalypse revived.
Today we
are trapped in a place where we want to be the most and with the people whom we
want to be with the most, but still we are confined. Masks have become a part
of our bodies, sanitizing like breathing and social distancing the personal
space.
Life is
simple but it has never been so complicated. Work from home is an advantage but
online classes are really difficult. This year has shown us the worst version
of life mankind could ever face but also the best versions of ourselves,
showing us our endurance level.
We are only
at the beginning of this crisis, or maybe the middle but certainly not the end,
and it is challenging us in ways that are unprecedented in modern times, not
least of which because it is breaking everywhere at once. Time is not on our
side right now, but with time this crisis will reshape our world. We don’t know
when this crisis will end, but we can be sure, by the time it does, our world
will look very different.
We may have
to live with what we are living forever. The question is, is this the new
normal or will this become the new normal? Or is this the abnormal that will
change back to the old normal, we don’t know, but at the end of the day, the
goals are simple : Safety and Security.
