Charlie never said anything about his sister's boyfriend abusing her because she asked him to until it exceeded the limit. He never revealed the secret about Patrick (his friend and senior at school) secretly seeing a guy who is not so proud of being gay. Sam (Patrick's step sister) the school's bada** opens up to Charlie about her life because she knew Charlie would never reveal her secrets.
And finally in the end they decided that Charlie is a wallflower.

If you are a wallflower people will open up to you with what's on their mind or their secrets which would make them light hearted and free minded. But the question is what do you get in return?
You get to know their secrets so that when required you can blackmail them.
Just kidding. You get their trust in return which is more than anything anyone could give. And being trusted by all is the most important perk of being a Wallflower.
